Skin protection is very important during the summer, but one part of the body receives too little attention at this time of the season – the lips. Lips need extra attention throughout the year, especially in summer when they lack natural glands to maintain moisture. As temperatures rise and your lips are exposed to harmful UV rays, heat, and the transition from heat to air conditioning, your lips can dry out and split, making them look and feel less fluffy.
If you want your lips to look stunning during the summer, follow the recommendations below.
- Lip balm and lip masks can be the most important skincare in your summer lipstick bag. They are used for two purposes – to protect the lips from the harmful UV rays and to moisturize them, thus preventing dehydration and flaking.
- Scrubbing. You probably scrub it with your facial skin, but do you include your lips in the process? As in other areas of your face, dead skin cells accumulate in this sensitive area of the skin. In the morning, use a soft toothbrush to clean your lips for a few seconds. This helps remove residues from the lips surface and gives them luster.
- Moisturize. Use night lip masks or balms to help your lips recover after a hard day. Lips will be able to absorb moisture during sleep.
- Maintain nutrition. Healthy skin starts from within. Studies have shown that nutrients such as omega-3 acids, vitamin E and vitamin C provide antioxidants and other nutrients to protect against skin damage. Choose a healthy, balanced diet that will help your skin stay healthy and radiant, including your lips.
Be sure to include your lips in your routine when taking care of your facial skin. They also require care that we give too little. Take care of yourself and pamper yourself because it is up to you to look and feel. Be beautiful and happy!
